April 21

Hola Otra Vez!

Quiero mostrar ustedes un poco de mi Espanol. Pero lo toma mucho timpo, entonces esta es todo por ahora.

A cookie goes to whoever can tell me what I just said!

Ah man, first thing I want to mention is Spring is Here! The trees have bloomed in lavender pinks and lots of white! Three were only a few little daffodils and other brave flowers blooming before. But now all the tulips, hyacinths, and pansies are awake and beatuiful! Ah, I'm actually ENJOYING the sun and being outside, that's another improvement in my behavior that's resulting. My companions thinks I'm a nature-nut because I keep cooing over all the flowers, and pointing out which bushes are starting to bloom. And trying to remember the names to trees and flowers, like dogwoods and magnolia. I think it's magnolia that have the huge magenta and white flowers.

Second and just as important as the first thing I mentioned: THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who sent me cards and packages and love in one form or another for my birthday! I was not very excited at all to have my 22nd birthday really, but all the care and appreciation and love I've felt in the last week really touched mi corazón! Also my room mates and district memebers wish to thank you for your generosity in treats as well! Haha!

Third on the agenda today (since I seem to be in the mood for places today) is that my new official departure date is the 4th of May, in just two weeks. I may have mentioned it before but I must mention again how much this blows my mind. I've already been here seven weeks. QUE?! I have only two weeks left! I had just started to adjust to living at the MTC and the Missionary schedule, and now I'm thinking about leaving!! Pero, este bien. Before my mission and when I first got here I will admit that I was nervous, maybe even afraid, to go out and teach people for real. However; now I find myself excited thinking about helping real Investegators learn their true divine identity. I am going to teach them that they are Children of God, and that he loves them very much. So much that he has a plan by which we, his children, can return to be with him eternally. And for that plan he allowed his perfect son, Jesus Christ, to suffer for our sake. And that through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, we can become clean from sin an he will make our burdens light. Through his Atoning Sacrifice we CAN be with our families for ever. And I get to spend my mission giving people that message. I have the opportunity to watch them as they realize their true identity as children of our Heavenly Father, and change their lives to live the way they now know they should. I get to watch them recieve blessings for their obediance to the commandments of God and I get to watch their lives improve.

I can't wait to get out there.

Yes it will still be scary, yes I'm going to sound like such a Gringo as I stumble over my spanish for the next six months. But it doesn't matter, I have to remember that. Because two men can do anything, if one of them is God.

And Houston Texas is the BEST Mission on the planet, because that is where I will be serving!

Se Amo. I think that as I've prayed for it, I can truely say that I have been blessed with feeling more love for my fellow brothers and sisters on the Earth than I have ever before. I pray every night to love the people of Houston before I even get there. They are my people, and I am their servant for the duration of my mission. Everything I'm learning now is for them. All the effort I put into study and teaching, and improving myself is for them. I want to be the best missionary I can be.

Got be with you 'till we meet again.

~ Hermana Smart

I am a missionary. I am happy.
